I'm interested to know if they're playing any of the newest songs on this current tour (besides ones like "Still Alive" that we've heard before). My suspicion is that a lot of the newest songs will be held back until the Fall tour (as I'm thinking that "Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes" will be released between the end of this Summer tour and the beginning of the Fall tour). However, who knows? The guys might decide to surprise us. :)

Ourboros -You are right on this one. Drummer Dave sounds pretty good considering it has been his second show with the band. What do ya'll think?

You're both lucky. I haven't been up to the ol' stomping grounds (RI/MA) in several years and I'm hankerin' for a decent lobster roll. Plus, isn't this Friday Lupo's 35-birthday celebration? Should be quite a party!

Plus, The Gaslight Anthem is playing at Lupo's the very next night... so chances are good that Brian and the gang will already be in Providence and may show up for the birthday fun on Friday.

Yes it is the clubs' 30 somthingeth birthday.. not sure what will be involved with that but it will be a fun time I am sure! I won't need Mike's permission to take the next day off for once! ha

Goin to see Biram w The 10 Ft Polecats and James Keys in Wooo-town on Sat too. Mint!!!

I was at the Poughkeepsie show. Great small venue and Mike seemed happier than I have ever seen him. He was high fiving the audience in the front during songs and joking around with individual members of the audience between songs. At one point the audience called out for Ball and Chain and the band complied. Never seen that before.

They opened the show with Road Zombie and Bye Bye Baby, which was really badass. I haven't kept up on their set lists lately so I don't know if they played anything different from usual, but they did throw in Another State of Mind which I hadn't seen live a few years. The only new song was Still Alive.

Mike said the album will come out in November, titled Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes.

Can't wait for the show next week on Long Island.

Did he announce Dave Hidalgo as their new drummer or anything like that at all?

Since the Fall tour promoting HT&NR begins on October 14th, I'd thought the album would be out by then. Oh well, it'll drop when it's ready - on a Tuesday.

Well, I'm glad you're all enjoying the shows over there, but seriously, they can't really be thinking of calling the LP "Hard Times & Nursery Rhymes" can they??? Jeeeeesus!!! :? (I wish there was a smiley shaking its head in disbelief, but I couldn't find one! )

Yeah, isn't the best name is it? I can understand the rationale behind the choice, but that doesn't make it work.

That would have to be a contender for "Understatement Of The Week" (I'll have to check that of course with the Official Unofficial Social Distortion Understatement Of The Week Award Generator and get back to you!!! )... it's an utterly appalling name for an album!!! (mind you "Sex Love And Rock & Roll" isn't exactly a great title either if you ask me!)... but, of course, ultimately the title means diddly squat and the content is what we'll all be waiting to hear! :)

I'm still silently hoping he was making a joke... If not, I can already see a song or two off the record on the next singstar edition...
